Twenty-four people are still missing following the gas explosion.

The accident was caused by a methane gas explosion in two blocks, B and C, of the mine run by the Madanjoo company, state media said.

A further 20 people are injured and 24 miners were believed to be trapped when the rescue operation got under way in Tabas.
