Sept. 30 (UPI) -- Hamas' leader in Lebanon was killed in an airstrike, the militia said Monday, as Israel over the weekend targeted Iran-backed proxies in two countries and Gaza.

Palestinian militant group Hamas said its leader in Lebanon was killed Monday in a strike on the country's south, as official media reported a strike on a Palestinian refugee camp.

Their house in the refugee camp was targeted, Hamas said.

The Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) has also issued a statement, confirming the death of the senior Hamas leader.
