Real-life TV star couple expecting baby together
by Ash Percival · MetroFormer Home and Away stars Rebecca Breeds and Luke Mitchell have revealed they are expecting their first child.
The real-life couple are best known for their roles as Ruby Buckton and Romeo Smith on the Australian soap.
Rebecca, 37, announced the news on Instagram, as she shared a picture of herself holding her bump on the red carpet at the premiere of her new film Kangaroo Island.
She wrote: ‘VERY excited to share baby Mitchell and @kangarooislandmovie coming sooooooooon! Thanks @adlfilmfest for having us and everyone who came to support us.’

Posting on his Instagram Story, Luke, 39, added: ‘I’m the luckiest man, husband & soon to be Dad (!!) in the UNIVERSE.’
The couple were congratulated by many of their former H&A co-stars, including long-standing cast member Lynne McGrainger, who plays Irene Roberts.
She commented: ‘Congratulations Bec and Luke! Very exciting news.’
Rebecca’s on-screen mum Esther Anderson, who played Charlie Buckton wrote: ‘Yehhhh!!! Congratulations you guys such great news!!!! X.’
Rebecca and Luke first met while starring on Home & Away in the late 2000s, with their characters having a brief fling.
Rebecca enjoyed a four-year stint on the soap before leaving in 2012, while Luke appeared from 2009 to 2013, with his character later dying off-screen following a cancer diagnosis.
The pair married shortly after Luke left the show in 2013 and they later relocated to the US.
In 2021, they both landed guest roles in the fourth season of The CW’s fantasy drama Legacies.
