A driver hit and killed a bear while he’s accused of driving drunk in New Hampshire, police said.

Officers responded to the crash and found the bear had died around 6:15 p.m. Sunday, the Hollis Police Department said in a news release.

While officers were speaking with the driver, a 30-year-old Massachusetts man, they noticed signs he might be impaired and tested his blood alcohol content, the department said.

It was .17 — more than twice the legal limit of .08, officials said.

Officers arrested the man and charged him with DUI, aggravated DUI and an open container violation.
