A 17-year-old girl was arrested on suspicion of stabbing and critically wounding a 55-year-old man Saturday morning in Capitol Hill.

Officers responded around 10:35 a.m. to East Harrison Street east of Broadway near a busy intersection. They found a man with multiple stab wounds and treated him at the scene, said Detective Eric Muñoz, a Seattle police spokesperson. He was then taken to Harborview Medical Center and received emergency surgery for life-threatening injuries.

As of Saturday night, police did not have an update on his condition.

The teen was arrested for investigation of first-degree assault. She also had an active warrant for assault with a weapon out of Snohomish County and was transported to Harborview for evaluation and treatment. Muñoz said once she is released, she is expected to be booked into the Judge Patricia H. Clark Children and Family Justice Center.

Muñoz said the circumstances of the stabbing were still under investigation as of Saturday evening.
