Snohomish County sheriff’s deputies hospitalized after pursuit

Three Snohomish County sheriff’s deputies and two other people were taken to a hospital Tuesday morning after a stolen vehicle pursuit.

Deputies responded to a vehicle theft in the 12000 block of 316th Avenue Southeast in Sultan around 6 a.m., according to the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office. They found the vehicle and followed it west on Highway 2 through Monroe before deputies put down spike strips, stopping the vehicle in the 14200 block of Highway 2.

The deputies’ patrol vehicles collided with the car believed to be stolen. Three deputies had minor injuries. The driver, a Seattle man, was taken into custody also with minor injuries, according to the Sheriff’s Office. A passenger in his vehicle also had minor injuries and was taken to a hospital.

The man was booked into the Snohomish County Jail for investigation of eluding, second-degree assault and unlawful possession of a firearm.
