Collision at Derbyshire recycling centre leaves man seriously injured
A man is in hospital with serious injuries, with the centre closed until further notice

Officers received a report at 12.20pm on Tuesday, October 8 that a man had been involved in a collision at a recycling centre at Northwood near Darley Dale.
The collision left the man with a serious injury to his leg after a collision between a Ford and a BMW. The man has since been taken to hospital for his injuries, which are said to be serious.
A spokesperson for Derbyshire County Council released a statement on X, they said: "Our household waste recycling centre at Northwood near Darley Dale is temporarily closed following an incident on site today. We'll post an update as soon as the site re-opens."
The recycling centre is operated by HW Martin Waste LTD in partnership with Derbyshire County Council, specialising in household waste for local residents.
Derbyshire police said in a statement: “The man suffered a serious injury to his leg after a collision between a Ford and a BMW. He has been taken to hospital for treatment. The recycling centre is currently closed as officers carry out enquiries into the circumstances of the collision.”
