Man Tells Best Friend Her Kids Are Too ‘Feral’ to Attend Wedding

A man on Reddit caused a stir when he told his best friend that her kids are too "feral" to attend a wedding. 

"My best friend [Sarah] and I have been best friends since birth. Our moms were best friends and her uncle and my auntie had a baby when we were 2, so that’s our cousin biologically despite not being related to each other. Recently Claire, our cousin, has been planning her wedding and my best friend Sarah had been planning on bringing her kids," he began.

While Claire seemed OK with Sarah bringing her kids to the wedding, Claire's bride-to-be was apprehensive.

"A few nights ago when it was brought up I said that her kids are always screaming and running around causing mayhem and are far too feral for a reception and as a suggestion [said] that they come to the after-party if Claire wanted them there. I did mention that they were always loud and hyperactive; always running around and wrecking things," the man explained.

Sarah was furious with his assessment of her children's behavior.

"I thought Sarah would’ve understood but she went off on me and told me she can control her kids and as they aren’t even related to me I shouldn’t get a say. I was hurt about this seeing as I’ve always been their guncle (gay uncle). Now she’s not even speaking to me and Claire is scared this will ruin her wedding as me and Sarah are both man and maid of honor," he concluded.

Users in the comments section sided with the man's idea of a child-free wedding.

"Truth hurts. If she doesn't want people to comment on her kids' behavior, she should teach them how to behave at events," one person wrote.

"People actually used to be embarrassed if their kids weren’t well behaved. No one wants to put up with feral children especially at a wedding. I don’t blame Claire’s fiancée for not wanting them there. If Sarah is the MOH [maid-of-honor], who’s going to be watching her kids at the wedding to make sure they aren’t misbehaving? Sarah should have enough sense not to want her kids to ruin Claire’s wedding," another commented.

"I absolutely hate being around feral, bratty kids. My sister raised a feral child, he was a demon on two feet. Nobody and I mean nobody wanted the demon child around them and my sister always got butt-hurt and lashed out at anyone that would call her out on the spawn of feral Satan that she birthed," someone else weighed in.
