Hunt for hit-and-run driver who crashed into bollards opposite school

Councillor Sam Forsyth said it could have been very different if the collision has happened as pupils left school

A hunt is underway to find a hit-and-run driver who crashed opposite a school. The motorist smashed into bollards in front of Four Dwellings School, at the junction of Quinton Road West and Dwellings Lane, just after 5pm on Monday (October 14).

The driver left the scene but police recovered the car. The road was closed and the number 24 bus service diverted while officers carried out their enquiries.

The force is appealing to anyone who has information about the incident to contact them.

West Midlands Police said: "We were called to the junction of Dwellings Lane and Quinton Road West just after 5pm yesterday after a car crashed into bollards. The driver left the scene, but the car has been recovered and enquiries continue.

"Anyone with information has been asked to get in touch via Live Chat or 101, quoting log 3979 of October 14."

Councillor Sam Forsyth said: "If you have any relevant information about the crash, please contact the police as if this had happened at school closing time, it could have been very different."
