Strictly Come Dancing fans were unanimous in their reaction as Pete Wicks debuted his new hairdo during the latest instalment of the BBC spectacle.

The 36 year old celebrity hit the dance floor with his pro partner Jowita Przysta, ready to woo the judges with a Quickstep to The Jams Town Called Malice.

Before the pair showcased their new number, they offered fans a glimpse at their ensemble and Pete's revamped hairstyle sparked a buzz among those tuning in.

Venturing onto X, once known as Twitter, one viewer exclaimed: "OMG Pete looks so different." Another remarked: "Pete Wicks in a 1950s style omg my clothes just fell off #strictly.", reports the Mirror.

A third spectator commented: "PETE'S HAIR? ! #strictly." And a fourth individual on social media questioned: "Are they sure that was Pete Wicks."

This follows insights from body language and behavioural expert Darren Stanton, who's predicted that Pete and Jowita could be contenders for the trophy, particularly after clinching their personal best of 26 out of 40 points the previous weekend.

Representing Betfair Slots, Darren Stanton proclaimed: "Pete Wicks has a very good chance at making the final already. He's definitely shown he's capable of anything, and at this stage, that's very promising."

"He might just carry off the crown. The rapport between him and Jowita is compelling and it's evident in their seamless communication, which manifests through subtle physical gestures, mutual gazes and overall harmony."

While Pete and Jowita are storming the floor, potentially all the way to the final, Darren has voiced his concerns that EastEnders star Jamie Borthwick and his dance partner Michelle Tsiakkas might find themselves in trouble this weekend.

Sharing his insights, he said: "I believe Jamie and Michelle will be in trouble this week. While they seem strong as a pairing in terms of their level of rapport, which continues to build, the judges will be less and less forgiving of small technical faults."

Darren highlighted the judges' growing scrutiny: "We are seeing the judges become more critical and picky when it comes to their routines. Jamie's levels of confidence are slipping. I'm not seeing what it takes to get through to the latter point of the competition, they're not quite as well-connected as some of the other couples higher up the leaderboard."
