Waitrose has issued an urgent product recall - urging shoppers to visit a store and pack an item away for a FULL refund. Waitrose, which is rivalled by the likes of Sainsbury's and Tesco and Asda and Morrisons, has spoken out on its website.

Waitrose said: "We apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused and would like to assure customers of our continued commitment to the highest standards of product quality and food safety." In a product recall, it said: "Waitrose Easy to Cook Scottish Salmon En Croute 350g and Waitrose Easy to Cook Salmon and Sweet Potato Curry 500g.

"Brand: Waitrose. Best Before Date: 2nd Oct, 3rd Oct. We are recalling Waitrose Scottish Salmon En Croute due undeclared allergens; Milk, Wheat, Soya, Mustard. Do not consume. Package up item. Return the product to your local Waitrose & Partners branch for a refund.

"Contact: Waitrose Customer Care 0800 188 884, Option 4." The supermarket added: "We apologise that it has been necessary to recall this product and for the inconvenience caused." It comes after Waitrose & Partners confirmed it is recalling No1 Pesto alla Genovese because Salmonella has been found in the product.

Waitrose & Partners is recalling the above product. Point of sale notices will be displayed in stores where the product was sold. These notices explain to customers why the product is being recalled and tell them what to do if they have bought the product.

The chain operates a nearby store in Solihull.
