'Healthy' man died after Covid jab and texting brother 'I am not well'

Jason Eagles died 'as a consequence' of having an AstraZeneca Covid jab

by · Birmingham Live

A man died just 16 days after having the AstraZeneca Covid vaccination. Jason Eagles, 51, had been deemed to be in a medically fit and healthy ‘stable’ condition prior to having the vaccine - despite having diabetes and being classed as 'obese'.

But 10 days after his first vaccine, Jason developed a cough and complained of breathlessness to friends and family. On March 13, 2021, he was found unresponsive at his home in Gladwyn Street, Stoke-on-Trent, by his father.

He had earlier texted his brother to say 'I’m not well', StokeonTrentLive reports. Medical tests revealed Jason died of a 'pulmonary thromboembolism as a consequence of the Covid vaccination', an inquest heard.

Coroner Philip Vollans said: "Jason had a very recent history of dyspnea and an associated cough. As identified in the chronology of the single event it was in receipt of a Covid-19 vaccination administered on February 25, 2021. This was in timing of his shortness of breath some days later.

"As the balance of probabilities following on receipt of the Covid-19 vaccine I find that this is what consequently caused the pulmonary thromboembolism and that was his medical cause of death. My narrative conclusion is one of complications following on from medical treatment."

A spokesperson for AstraZeneca added: "Our sympathy goes out to anyone who has lost loved ones or reported health problems. Patient safety is our highest priority.

"From the body of evidence in clinical trials and real-world data, the Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine has continuously been shown to have an acceptable safety profile and regulators around the world consistently state that the benefits of vaccination outweigh the risks of extremely rare potential side effects.

"We are incredibly proud of the role the Oxford-AstraZeneca played in ending the global pandemic. According to independent estimates, over six million lives were saved in the first year of use alone and over three billion doses were supplied globally.

"Our efforts have been recognised by governments around the world and are widely regarded as being a critical component of ending the global pandemic."
