Great British Bake Off's Prue Leith admits being 'reckless' as she says 'I'm near the end'
by Annabal Bagdi, Danny Gutmann, https://www.birminghammail.co.uk/authors/annabal-bagdi/ · Birmingham LiveGreat British Bake Off judge Prue Leith has admitted she is 'more reckless' as she gets older. The 84-year-old hinted that she is becoming more free-spirited in her later years.
The cooking guru revealed she has started to adopt a 'why not?' approach to life. Speaking to Bella magazine, she said: "Because I’m so near the end, I’m a bit more reckless now. What’s the worst that can happen?"
She added: "If I was about to try to get a job on Bake Off I probably wouldn't walk down a catwalk in Latex with goth make-up on, but now it's too late. If I want to do it and it sounds like good fun I just think "why not?"."

The Channel 4 Bake Off star made her debut catwalk appearance at London Fashion Week in September. The experience saw her make the 20 metre long walk for fashion brand Vin + Omi.
She said: "Two days ago, I got dressed, well, barely dressed, in a skintight black latex number held together with corset-style red cord. I was here to march down a catwalk in front of 500 members of the press and public."
The judge said she felt daunted at first but was encouraged by the crowd. Prue said: "But in spite of all that, I just loved it. The crowd could not have been kinder, whooping and hollering at the gallant old lady (84 and counting) giving it a go.
"I'm just such an egotist, lapping up the attention." Prue replaced Mary Berry on Bake Off in 2017.
Although she has thought about leaving, she said she intends to stay for a while longer. She said: "So I won't leave in a hurry, but I will leave some time because I'm getting ancient."
