Police message to Marston Green residents as forensic teams conduct finger-tip searches

The teenage boy was killed outside a busy row of shops in Marston Green just after 6pm on Tuesday evening.
The teen, 17, was found with "life threatening injuries" after the stabbing on Station Road at 6:20pm. Police and West Midlands Ambulance crews flooded the scene, with paramedics and critical care staff providing trauma care and life support.
Despite best efforts, the boy died, and a 17-year-old male teenager has since been arrested on suspicion of murder. As he remains in custody, officers have been conducting finger-tip searches, and addressed concerns that Marston Green residents might have following the incident.

Supt Wayne Carter, of Solihull Police, said he knows people will "understandably be concerned" after the fatal attack and that officers will be on hand throughout today and into the week to reassure the community. The area around Station Road remained sealed off into Wednesday afternoon as forensic officers continued to work at the scene.
Officers were conducting in-depth sweeps of the area and a blue tent was up outside the businesses on Station Road. At 12:30pm, the time of writing, live traffic system INRIX confirmed Station Road was still closed to the public.

The latest INRIX update read: "Station Road in both directions closed due to accident from Holly Lane to Alcott Lane." A full statement from West Midlands Police on the incident read: "We've launched a murder investigation and arrested a teenager following a stabbing in Solihull yesterday evening. We were called to Station Road in Marston Green, Solihull at around 6.20pm on Tuesday.
"A 17-year-old boy was treated for his injuries by the ambulance service, but despite their best efforts he sadly died and a murder investigation has now been launched.
"We have arrested a 17-year-old boy on suspicion of murder and he remains in police custody as our investigation continues. Our thoughts remain firmly with the victim's family and loved ones at this truly tragic time."
Supt Wayne Carter, of Solihull Police, said: "We know people will understandably be concerned and we will be in the area conducting enquiries throughout the day.
"We will have extra officers in the area over the coming days and I would encourage anyone with any information, or concerns, to get in touch. We are reviewing CCTV footage and making enquires and we are also appealing to any witnesses who haven't spoken to us yet, to come forward.
