by Katy Hallam, Amy Jones, https://www.birminghammail.co.uk/authors/katy-hallam/, https://www.facebook.com/acjoness, Bradley Jolly, Ayeesha Walsh · Birmingham LiveDion Dublin has given his followers a rare peek into his family life by posting an endearing snapshot of his wife and daughter during a day out at the beach. The Homes Under the Hammer star and former Manchester United ace, who tends to keep his personal life away from the spotlight, shared the charming picture on Instagram, following the tragic loss of his sister, whom he fondly referred to as his "heartbeat and backbone".
Dublin, 55, who tied the marital knot with Cheryl Dublin in 2017, is a proud father to their daughter Ruby Roseanne. Despite his celebrity status, Dion is known for his preference to maintain privacy around family moments, though he occasionally shares glimpses of holiday trips or special family events with his fans, as we've previously mentioned.
In his latest Instagram update, Dion captured a heartwarming moment with Cheryl and Ruby during a beach visit. The family trio were all smiles for the camera, with young Ruby looking adorable in a bright bike helmet while nestled in her loving dad's arms.

Dion added a playful touch to the post, captioning it "Dublin Day Out! ", accompanied by emojis that playfully suggested the cool weather. Fans showered the post with love, with one fan commenting: "Beautiful family", and another chiming in with: "Awww what a lovely photo.", reports the Mirror.
Dion, a true family man at heart, once shared with the Mirror back in 2018 his perfect idea of a weekend, which always involves staying close to home if the British weather allows. "If the weather's right then I'd always stay in the UK. I love getting away with my wife and dog," he said, expressing his fondness for domestic bliss.
He also didn't hold back on singing praises for his wife's cooking abilities, especially when it comes to a traditional full English breakfast. "My wife's a better cook than me by a million miles. She does most of the cooking as I'm out at work, and always makes sure I'm fed and watered," he told OK! with evident appreciation.
Tragedy struck Dion's family in July 2022 when they had to face the devastating loss of his sister Carmen. Overcome with grief, Dion posted a heartfelt message on social media: "Yesterday we lost our amazing sister Carmen, the heartbeat and backbone to our family. Our hearts are truly broken, we will be lost without you."
In an earlier conversation with the Mirror, Dion had opened up about the strong bond he shares with his family, recalling cherished moments spent together. Growing up as the youngest of five siblings, Dion has always valued the legacy of his parents, who were part of the Windrush generation, coming from the West Indies to Britain. His mother Rose was a committed district nurse, and his father Eddie, now in his 80s, could have pursued a career in professional football.
Dion, the Celebrity Masterchef star and ex-footballer, shared an intriguing family tale in August 2021. He disclosed: "At one point, my dad had a choice whether to sign pro-forms for Fulham or go on tour as a bass player with Rod Stewart. That was the choice. Go professional or go on tour with Rod Stewart. It was a pretty amazing choice to have. He chose to go on tour with Rod Stewart. Music was closer to his heart. He still plays now. He's 82 and he's still playing bass in a reggae band."
The Homes Under the Hammer host further added: "We all play music. I play percussion, my mum [Rose], when she was alive, played the mandolin and we've got Clem who plays lead guitar. Eddie plays drums, Ash, my eldest brother is a bass player and Carmen used to play the keyboards. I think if I'd taken up percussion earlier I might have gone for it... Percussion is my passion when it comes to music, and it's something that's come straight down from Mum and Dad."
Before becoming a well-known face on TV, Dion enjoyed a successful career in the Premiership, playing for Manchester United, Coventry City and Aston Villa. After hanging up his boots, he joined the presenting team on Homes Under the Hammer in 2015 and regularly serves as a pundit for Football Focus, Match of the Day and other BBC Sport shows.
