Latest in Walsall attempted murder probe as police say 'we're looking to arrest more'

Police have now arrested five people in connection with a serious knife attack in Walsall - and vowed more arrests will follow. Detectives arrested a fifth man in connection with the attempted murder probe of a man in Wolverhampton Road.

The victim was left seriously injured after the incident at around 9.30pm on Tuesday, September 24. The man was treated at the scene, which was close to the Asda Express service station.

Today, Nov 5, police confirmed a 21-year-old man had been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder. He was bailed under strict conditions while the enquiries continue.

In the latest update, police said it was still looking to "arrest more suspects" amid the ongoing attempted murder probe. Anyone with information - particularly with dashcam footage - was urged to come forward.

A new police statement read: "We've arrested a man on suspicion of attempted murder after another man was left with serious injuries in Walsall.

"We detained a 21-year-old man today (Wed) in connection with an incident in Wolverhampton Road on the evening of 24 September. He has been given bail with strict conditions while our enquiries continue.

"This is the fifth arrest and we are looking to arrest more suspects as our investigation continues. We’re still appealing for people with information to come forward.
