Amanda Holden got distracted by another man on date night 'much to her husband's dismay'

Amanda Holden has candidly shared with her Heart Breakfast listeners that she was "chatting" to another man during a "rare" date night with her husband Chris Hughes, much to his "dismay".

The couple, who seldom get time alone due to their hectic schedules, visited the chic Fifty Cheyne in Chelsea for an intimate evening on Thursday.

However, Amanda brought along their rescue dog Minnie, not wanting to leave her at home. It was while finding a spot for the pooch, that Amanda struck up a conversation with a solo diner nearby.

She recounted: "Me and Chris had a rare dinner on our own, well, I took Minnie to be honest, I took the puppy because I didn't want to leave her behind. We went to Fifty Cheyne which is a really gorgeous pub and, oh my god, the food is amazing there and they're lovely in there.

"We sat down and I noticed that, next to me, there was a man on his own. And I was going to put Minnie's carrier right there and I started interacting.

"Straight away I was like 'you're not allergic to dogs, are you? Because I'm going to put the dog...' and he was so lovely and was like, 'no', so I was chatting away, much to Chris's dismay. I do talk to people."

As the evening progressed, both Amanda and Chris became intrigued by the man's situation, as he appeared to be waiting for a date he'd met through an app, leading them to hope he wasn't being stood up.

Amanda continued: "Me and Chris were on our starters and I kept saying 'is everything alright, is she on her way? ' and he said, 'yeah, she has said she's going to be late'. And then - even Chris piped up!"

"He said 'I can't concentrate until she gets here, we're worried for you'. And then the door opens, and in walks this absolute beauty."

Amanda concluded by saying the couple left feeling "very parental" towards the man, but have no idea how his date ended.

The BGT star began dating husband Chris in 2004 after the pair met in Los Angeles. They tied the knot in 2008 at the exclusive Babington House in Somerset.

They share daughters Alexa and Hollie together. The family now live with their dogs in Surrey.
