Man fighting for his life and three others injured as car flips on roof

A man was fighting for his life after a car flipped on its roof in Wednesbury. Another man suffered potentially life changing injuries, and two others were hospitalised following the crash in Woden Road South.

Emergency services were called to the scene at around 8.19pm on Sunday, November 3. The car had overturned after reportedly colliding with street furniture.

The two seriously injured men were taken to Birmingham's Queen Elizabeth Hospital, while the others went to Walsall Manor Hospital. A fifth occupant, a woman, was uninjured.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: “Ambulance staff arrived at the scene to find a car on its roof after reportedly colliding with street furniture. The team worked quickly to assess the five occupants of the car.

“One man was in a critical condition and received advanced trauma care to stabilise his condition before being conveyed on blue lights to Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham for further emergency care. A second man sustained potentially life changing injuries, which also required trauma care on scene before being alerted to the same hospital for specialist care.

“Two other men were assessed and treated for less serious injuries before being conveyed to Walsall Manor Hospital. The fifth occupant, a woman, was uninjured.”
