Kerry Katona's 'brutal real reason' for split from fiance Ryan Mahoney

Kerry Katona's relationship with her fiance Ryan Mahoney was reportedly "on the rocks" months before she announced their surprising split. The former Atomic Kitten star, 44, got engaged to fitness trainer Ryan, 36, while on holiday in Spain four years ago.

Kerry is said to have felt "unsupported" by her partner during recent events, including her mum being taken into hospital. A source told The Sun: "It's not like anyone has cheated - Kerry's felt over the last couple of months that Ryan hasn't been that supportive - when she moved into a new home he was no help. Basically since her mum went into hospital he's not been there for her."

The source added that Kerry became fed up with her partner being "lazy" and didn't see a long-term future with him. The couple sparked split rumours earlier this year when she moved in with her mum.

Kerry spoke out while visiting her sick mum Sue in hospital, after Sue was rushed to A&E with blood clots found in her lungs. Earlier today Kerry shared an update on Sue with her followers this week, telling them the doctor had been to visit Sue on the ward.

One fan cracked a joke in the comments on Instagram, writing: "So much love to you both, and is the Dr single?" In response, Kerry shocked fans as she admitted: "No, but I am!"

Ryan and Kerry began dating in 2018 after meeting on dating app Bumble. The fitness trainer proposed to Katona on her 40th birthday in 2020. The pair had been living together with Katona's five children, and Mahoney had even planned to adopt her youngest daughter, Dylan-Jorge.

In February, Katona shocked fans and hinted at problems in the relationship by revealing she had given Mahoney a "free pass" to have a baby with another woman, stating: "I don't want to deprive him. I've given him a pass and said, 'If this is something you want to pursue, leave me now!'"
