Jeremy Clarkson has revealed he underwent a heart procedure after his health deteriorated significantly. In his column for the Sunday Times, the star of Clarkson's Farm recounted how he had difficulty climbing stairs after a holiday.

His condition worsened rapidly upon returning home, with symptoms such as feeling "clammy", experiencing "tightness in my chest", and "pins and needles in my left arm" escalating. The 64 year old said he was prompted to seek medical attention following the sudden death of former Scottish first minister Alex Salmond, who passed away earlier in the month from a heart attack at 69.

At the hospital, Jeremy was informed he was just "days away" from becoming gravely ill and was swiftly taken to surgery for a stent insertion. He detailed that one of his heart's arteries was completely blocked, with another on its way to being so.

The stent is intended to enhance blood flow to the heart and help prevent a potential heart attack. Jeremy also humorously mentioned considering lifestyle changes, pondering over the taste of water and whether celery could be made more appealing.

The former Top Gear host has been candid about his health struggles, sharing in his Sunday Times column how his son Finlo has motivated him to improve his fitness after noticing he'd be gasping for air during their strolls. He's also voiced his worry about the possibility of dementia due to his deteriorating hearing

"This has been going on for 12 years and, being a tolerant sort of guy, I've coped," he wrote previously. "But I was told after my most recent medical that hearing loss will double the chance of me catching dementia.

"My brain is having to use a huge amount of computing power trying to fill in the bits of speech it hasn't been able to hear." He confirmed he would be wearing hearing aids following the warning from doctors.
