Strictly Come Dancing's judge Anton Du Beke was left gobsmacked by the sight of Gorka Marquez's toned abs during the first performance on BBC One's dance show. Launching the ballroom competition were This Morning's Dr Punam Krishan and her partner Gorka, who took to the stage with an energetic jive to Lizzo's "2 Be Loved (Am I Ready)".

Anton, 58, was noticeably taken aback by Gorka's bare chest, which seemed to draw his attention away from Dr Punam Krishan's footwork. Despite their lively efforts, the duo didn't quite charm the judges as they had previously with their Bollywood number.

Craig Revel Horwood didn’t hold back, dubbing the routine 'sloppy, messy, full of mistakes. ' Motsi Mabuse added that it appeared the 'pressure got to you after last week', pointing out several technical missteps.

Distraction seemed the theme for Anton, who quipped about Gorka's half-dressed state: "I was watching you dance and I thought to myself 'I've got a shirt like that'. It doesn't quite look the same on me as on you, Gorks."

Bypassing a detailed critique, he jested further: "They're right about what they say, so I thought I wouldn't really talk about it. I thought I'd talk about something else. I tied my own tie, you know, and I think it's gone rather well. I look forward to seeing you next week.", reports the Express.

Gorka jumped to his partner's defence, saying: "She's a GP. She doesn't do anything to do with performing! " However, their efforts only earned them 20 out of 40 points, with Craig awarding a low score of 4, according to Birmingham Live. Meanwhile, viewers at home were preoccupied with Gorka's appearance, taking to social media to comment on his outfit.

One fan wrote: "Anton just talking about Gorka's shirt than the dance. Anton is just chaotic tonight and I bloody love it."
