Liam Payne's cause of death confirmed by police after One Direction star tragically dies

One Direction star Liam Payne has died at the age of 31, the band have confirmed in a statement. The singer tragically fell from a balcony in a hotel in Argentina

The death of beloved One Direction sensation Liam Payne has been officially confirmed by authorities following a harrowing incident.

The star met his tragic end after plummeting from the balcony of an Argentinian hotel. Emergency services, including police, firefighters, and medical personnel, were swiftly on the scene outside the establishment. Spokesperson for the City ambulance service, Alberto Crescenti, revealed that Liam sustained "very serious injuries incompatible with life."

Speaking to TN, he recounted: "At 17.04 through the 911 integrated public safety system, we were alerted of a person who was in an internal courtyard of the management of a south house hotel. At 17.11 a SAME team arrived and verified the death of this man and later we found out that he was a singer in a musical group. Unfortunately, he had injuries that were incompatible with life, as a result of his fall, so we had to confirm his death, there was no possibility of resuscitation."

Crescenti added: "The alarm was raised at 5.04pm local time saying a person was lying in an internal patio at Casa Sur.", reports the Express.

"An ambulance reached the spot at 5.11pm and the individual was pronounced dead. It was later discovered he was a celebrated singer. The injuries sustained from the fall were fatal, leaving no chance for revival."

Liam died after attending a concert by his ex-bandmate Niall Horan in Argentina. He had been chronicling his journey through the country and was reportedly staying alone at a hotel prior to his untimely death.

Weeks before his death, the pop star took to Instagram to share a photo alongside his former bandmates. In what turned out to be his final post, the singer paid a tribute to American documentary filmmaker, writer and TV producer Morgan Spurlock.

His final Instagram update featured a photo with Morgan, alongside his former bandmates Niall Horan, Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, and Zayn Malik.

Alongside a sombre photograph, Liam penned: "Rest in peace Morgan Spurlock it was a pleasure working with you.

The post quickly became a space for mourning as fans inundated it with tributes after being taken aback by the announcement of his passing. Comments ranged from disbelief to sorrow, with one saying: "Please don't tell me he passed away."

while another pleaded: "tell me it's not true."

Another individual simply left a message reading: "rip liam."
