Strictly Come Dancing enthusiasts are in for a musical delight this weekend, as a much-loved band is set to grace our screens once again.

Snow Patrol, the Scottish-Northern Irish rock group, will be performing this evening in front of a live audience on BBC One, with their appearance broadcast during Sunday night's results show.

The band, famed for hits like Run and Chasing Cars, have been seen rehearsing in London today ahead of their performance, according to the Mirror.

A source shared: "Strictly always delivers when it comes to their musical performances and tomorrow night is Snow Patrol.

"All the celebs and pros are really excited and some of the latter will be performing during their set."

Gary Lightbody, the lead singer of Snow Patrol, is poised for a return to the iconic Strictly dance floor, as the insider told The Sun: "Fans will have to wait and see what it looks like on Sunday but it's gearing up to be really special. "

Previously, Strictly has welcomed huge acts such as Ellie Goulding and Jessie Ware to the stage.

This announcement comes hot on the heels of news regarding BBC presenter Nick Knowles' future on Strictly. The DIY SOS presenter is confirmed to be making a grand comeback to the dance floor, according to BBC chiefs.

A BBC Spokesperson said: "We are all delighted that Nick Knowles and Luba Mushtuk will be dancing in this Saturday's show."

Nick has received the green light to hit the dance floor once again from the medical and physio teams after his injury scare last week. The pair will be dancing the Charleston to Rain On The Roof from Paddington 2 for Movies Week after Nick's time away from training.

Last week, those tuning into Strictly Come Dancing would have noticed that Nick was absent from the live action due to another injury, which kept him backstage during Movie Week.

The well-known TV personality had to miss out on last Saturday's show due to a "quite painful" knee injury suffered during Friday's rehearsals.

Taking to Twitter with a photo of him watching the show from home, Nick shared his frustration, posting: "Gutted not to be out there with everyone tonight on the @bbcstrictly dance floor, but still suited up and cheering them on from the sofa." (sic)

His fellow Strictly stars didn't forget him as the night unfolded, with Claudia Winkleman extending heartfelt wishes on air, saying: "Nick, we are sending you love and wishing you a speedy recovery."

With fans eagerly awaiting Nick's performance with Luba Mushtuka, the show moved their routine to the upcoming week in line with the programme's protocol.

During an appearance on Strictly: It Takes Two, Nick reflected on the accident and shared: "During our first dress rehearsal today, or run-through of the dance number on the stage...

"Unfortunately I damaged my knee and it's quite painful. So the physios have decided I need to go for an MRI."

Luba also expressed her disappointment, stating: "Unfortunately we will not be dancing tomorrow but we really, really hope that the knee will be better for the next week and we'll be back on the dance floor. Fingers crossed, we really hope that we'll be back and see you guys very soon."

Nick further updated his Strictly fans in a heartfelt Instagram post, penning: "I have to see how I get on - and then a decision will be made on Friday.

"I just wanted to take this moment to say thank you for all the well wishes that I've received and encouragement from everybody. And I'm hopeful that I will be dancing on Saturday."

Strictly Come Dancing returns tonight at 6.20pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
