Comedian Chris McCausland has made his mark on Strictly Come Dancing history as the first blind competitor. While Chris tends to keep his personal life away from the spotlight, he lives in London with his wife Patricia, a psychologist by profession, and their daughter Sophie.

The 8 Out of 10 Cats star's wife prefers to keep out of the spotlight, though her LinkedIn page states that she is an Adult Social Care & Education Solicitor who trained at Liverpool John Moores University. They have been married for 16 years.

Chris rarely talks about his relationship, but did once reveal how the pair met before getting engaged at a Pearl Jam concert. He said "My wife used to work in TV and we met very early on in my career when she was involved in making a programme about the Edinburgh Festival."

Chris also once spoke of a big issue they run into every year in their home. In an interview with Brighton Magazine, Chris revealed his cultural difference with Patricia, who is Brazilian.

"As you can imagine, we are very different in terms of our culture, and our biological response to temperature," Chris said. "Whereas my wife will still require a winter coat in 22 degree sunshine, I struggle to function in anything warmer than about 26."

He joked: "This obviously creates a great deal of conflict when the central heating comes into question. I talk about this in [my stand-up] show, but I think there is a good chance that one of us may one day be found dead in the hallway with one arm reaching out towards the thermostat, with the other one of us having skipped the country."

Patricia has appeared on TV with Chris before for an episode of David Mitchell's Outsiders, hosted by Alan Davies. Chris and Patricia famously had a moment of contention when asked: 'On a scale of 1 to 10 how happy are you in your relationship?'

Patricia confidently answered: "I'll go for a good, solid nine and a half. And that's not to say I don't feel like it's a ten. I just feel there's always room for improvement, because we've got that winning mentality and that's why we're here."

But this response seemed to surprise Chris, leading him to ask: "You'd go nine and a half? " Encouraging honesty, Patricia prompted him with, "Alright, well, go on.."

Chris, however, decided to match his wife's score, saying: "Yeah nine and a half." Patricia, showing a hint of exasperation, pressed him: "All right. I know, okay, what you want then? Go on you tell him then. Go on we're here to be honest, you tell him."

Sticking his earlier sentiment, Chris affirmed to Alan and his wife, 'Nine and a half'. Patricia's displeasure was evident, leading Alan to ask the pair: "Do you fight often?"

Patricia responded with a pointed look at Chris and a gesture for him to answer first. Chris, cautious of causing further tension, hesitated before suggesting, "Can you go first?"

Patricia's irritation was clear as she snapped back: "All right. You know what. There you go." She then abruptly rose from her seat and left the conversation, declaring "Yeah, see you later."
