Police update on Wednesbury crash after four hurt as car flipped on roof

Police said two men remained in hospital with 'serious injuries' after a car flipped on its roof in Wednesbury. Four people were hurt following the crash in Woden Road South on Sunday evening (November 2).

Emergency services were called to the scene at around 8.20pm. It's believed the vehicle had overturned after colliding with street furniture.

Five people were inside four men, aged between 28 and 55, and a 30-year-old woman. Medics took two men to Birmingham's Queen Elizabeth Hospital - one who was found in a critical condition, and another who had sustained potentially life changing injuries. Two other men were taken to Walsall Manor Hospital for less serious injuries, while the woman was uninjured.

A West Midlands Police spokesperson said: "A car containing five people were involved in a collision involving a single car in Wednesbury yesterday evening (November 3). We were called to Woden Road South in the Sandwell area at around 8.20pm following reports of a single car on its roof.

"The car contained four men and a woman. Two people continue to be treated for serious injuries. Our Serious Collision Investigation Unit continues to investigate the circumstances that led to the collision."
