BBC Strictly Come Dancing fans 'know' real reason JLS star JB Gill ended up in dance off as they say same thing

Strictly Come Dancing fans were flabbergasted when JLS star JB Gill ended up in the bottom two - but said they had worked out the reason why. The singer, 37, ended up in the dance-off on Sunday night's results show after his jive to Hey Ya! with partner Amy Dowden - despite landing smack bang in the middle of the leaderboard with 30 points.

His co-stars looked absolutely shocked, including pro Nikita Kuzmin whose jaw dropped following the announcement. After host Tess Daly revealed they would be up for the chop, JB told fans: "It's disappointing but it is what it is."

Head judge Shirley Ballas revealed she didn't think it was the correct decision. She said: "I feel quite emotional for you...you are a very,very good dancer. All you have to do is repeat what you did on Saturday." Shirley added that the judges 'believed' in the star.

Fans were taken aback by the results, with many taking to X, formerly Twitter, with the same baffled message. One fan wrote: "No way!"

A second echoed: "What!!!! JB no way!!" A third said "I gasped" while a fourth added: "NO WAY JB SHOULD BE IN THE DANCE OFF."

But fans have a theory as to why the duo ended up in the bottom two. They speculated they had been hit by the 'curse' of dancing first on the live Saturday night show.

One fan wrote: "JB bitten by the curse of going first. #strictly." A second agreed: "The “first on” curse strikes yet again."

And a third commented: "The curse of the first strikes again. That was by far his worst routine though."
