This is the moment a vehicle erupts into flames after a three car collision in Birmingham. Mobile phone footage shows the fireball collision on the Aston Expressway last night.

Two fire engines were called to the scene just after 7pm yesterday, Wednesday, October 23. It led to the closure of part of the carriageway last night.

One of the drivers was left in a potentially serious condition following the crash. He received treatment at the scene before being conveyed to Queen Elizabeth Hospital for further treatment.

One ambulance, a paramedic officer and a MERIT trauma doctor and critical care paramedic attended the scene. Upon arrival we found a man who was the driver of one of the cars in a potentially serious condition. He received treatment at the scene before being conveyed to Queen Elizabeth Hospital for further treatment. No further patients required treatment.”

A fire service spokesman told BirminghamLive: "Shortly after 7.06pm on Wednesday 23 October, we responded to the Aston Expressway, Birmingham. A fire engine from Ladywood and a fire engine from Aston responded.
