Ruth Langsford's heartbreaking admission about end of relationship as she shares hopes for son

by · Birmingham Live

Ruth Langsford has opened up about her hopes for her son's future - and made a heartbreaking admission following her split from Eamonn Holmes. The TV duo were together for 28 years and share son Jack.

They parted ways earlier this year. The Loose Women presenter recently opened up about her aspirations for Jack's future in an interview with Woman & Home.

Seemingly opening up about the toll the end of her relationship with Eamonn has taken on her, Ruth revealed she just wanted her son 'to not have his heart broken'. She said: "When you have children, you look at them starting out in life and just want everything to be good for them, for them to be happy and to not have their hearts broken.

"You can't guarantee any of that, but that's what I want most for Jack." In a previous episode of HELLO!'s A Good Place podcast, the mum-of-one revealed how close she was to her son.

She emotionally confessed how much she missed Jack when he moved out to go to university. "I would say that first week of not having him at home literally felt like part of my heart had been ripped out.

"I kept his bedroom door shut. I remember coming home and going into his bedroom and crying."

Eamonn has moved on from his relationship with Ruth, and is dating Katie Alexander. They recently attended a wedding together and went on holiday on a luxury cruise.

Ruth has kept tight-lipped about their divorce, but did cheekily comment during a conversation about antiques on ITV show Loose Women. The panel were discussing whether they "hang onto old bits of tat" or throw them away. "I'm throwing out a lot of stuff out at the moment", Ruth quipped, which had the audience in stitches.
