The Chase's Shaun Wallace opens up about rare personal life and love decision
by Jordan Coussins, https://www.birminghammail.co.uk/authors/jordan-coussins/, Sasha Morris · Birmingham LiveShaun Wallace, famed as The Dark Destroyer on ITV's The Chase, has opened up about his personal life, confirming that he is indeed "in a relationship". The 65 year old barrister, who typically keeps his private life away from the spotlight, made the revelation while speaking on the How To Be 60 podcast with Loose Women's Kaye Adams and co-host Karen MacKenzie.
Shaun admitted that although he isn't married, he feels wedded to his work, saying: "I suppose I'm married to my career. Put it that way. I like that. I prefer that and I'm happier."
When pressed about having a partner, he disclosed: "Yes, I'm in a relationship."

Despite Kaye's attempts to learn more about his personal affairs, Shaun remained mostly an enigma. On the topic of children, he confirmed: "No, I have never had a child."
He justified his choice not to have kids due to the financial and professional instability he faced in his early days as a barrister, explaining: "It was a conscious reason when I was a young struggling barrister. I didn't think it would be right to bring up a child when you're trying to climb to the top of that greasy pole."
Shaun Wallace, famed for his role on The Chase, has never fathered any children but takes immense pride in being a godfather to many. He said: "And I've never regretted that decision. I've got 15 godchildren. "Two of them are called Shaun and I'm the best godfather in the world.
I probably would have been a great dad but I've got no regrets in relation to that. " He also played a significant role in his ex-partner's child's life, who he views as a daughter, adding: "I watched her grow into a lovely young lady.
She got a first-class honours degree recently and she got her doctorate the other day and I was there. " A mainstay of The Chase since its launch in June 2009, Shaun, along with Mark Labbett, is one of the original Chasers on the show, with Anne Hegarty joining in the second season.
