ITV celebrities have shown their support for Katie Piper after she bravely exposed a troll who posted a disgusting remark about her looks. The Loose Women host and campaigner was the victim of a brutal acid attack in 2008, which resulted in major damage to her face and vision.

Her ex-partner was behind the assault, which inflicted serious harm to her face and eyesight, leading to ongoing medical care and surgeries to alleviate the discomfort from scarring. On Sunday afternoon, Katie, aged 41, spoke to her fans after discovering the offensive comment on her Instagram that morning.

The online abuser had mockingly inquired "where is your nose?" to which she explained that her nose is being drawn into her face by dense scar tissue, causing excruciating pain. Following this, the troll vilely suggested that she should leap from a window.

Katie took to Instagram to share the hurtful interaction. She said: "After completing my run this morning, feeling already depleted because of my bad time, I opened my phone to this.

"I can handle most things, but sometimes it adds to an already heavy load you are carrying. You never know how people are feeling, what they're going through, how their days are and even if you did, the only person we're judging because of this comment, is you.

"I wouldn't usually call this out so personally, but this is beyond anything even I can handle. This behaviour should always be called out, people need to do better."

Dozens expressed their shock at the message and showed support for Katie, with notable figures such as Coleen Nolan, Adil Ray and Denise Welch being among the first to comment. Coleen expressed: "Oh god Katie this is so so vile ! I think these kind of people have no life , no friends and would prefer hate towards them then nothing at all. I'm trying to feel sorry for this sad individual but I'm finding it really difficult.. you on the other hand are one of the most beautiful individuals I've ever met. Never let anyone dull your shine."

Adil respinded: "Sending you love and strength Katie. Yes do call this out, but please don't let this horrid negativity occupy your mind. You're an absolute inspiration to all of us, in so many ways. You have taught us bravery and tenacity. Keep going, keep smiling and keep being beautiful inside and out."

Denise Welch added: "I'm literally speechless. It like Col says is because they'd rather have negative attention than non. Many so called journalists are the same."
