Police probing pellet gun drive-by shooting at marina

Staffordshire Police are investigating after a drive-by pellet gun shooting. A rear seated passenger in a black Ford Focus fired at a man out of a widow.

A man, in his 30s, was shot at near Barton Marina in Barton-under-Needwood, at 5.30pm, on Saturday, October 5. The car left the scene in the direction of the A38 Walton Way.

Thankfully no-one reported any injuries. The police investigation continues.

In a statement, police said: "We are appealing for information after a man was shot at by a man in a car with a pellet gun in East Staffordshire recently. We were called at 5.30pm on Saturday (5 October) to Barton Marina in Barton-under-Needwood.

"A black Ford Focus had driven past the victim, a man in his 30s, as a rear seat passenger fired a pellet gun out of the window. The car left the scene in the direction of the A38 Walton Way.

"Thankfully, no one was reported injured. Our inquiries are ongoing and we would like to speak to anyone who may have relevant CCTV or dashcam footage of the area at the time of the incident.

"Anyone with information should contact us on 101 quoting incident number 584 of 5 October. To report anonymously, contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
