Pedestrian killed in A435 Hollywood Bypass collision in Worcestershire

A pedestrian was killed in a collision in Worcestershire last night, paramedics said. It happened on the southbound carriageway of the A435 Hollywood Bypass, Hollywood, at around 11.59pm.

Police began performing CPR on the pedestrian, a man, before paramedics arrived. Paramedics gave advanced life support but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Two ambulances, a paramedic officer and a MERIT trauma team had responded to the incident. The tragedy happened only hours after a separate incident where a man was killed in a single-car crash in Redditch, near Holloway Drive and Marlfield Lane junction.

On the Hollywood tragedy, a West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: “When ambulance staff arrived, they found police officers performing CPR on a pedestrian, a man. The team of ambulance staff quickly commenced advanced life support but sadly, despite the best efforts of everyone, nothing could be done to save the pedestrian and he was confirmed dead at the scene.”
