Young cyclist hit by car rushed to Birmingham hospital in serious condition

The youngster was riding his bike when he was involved in the collision in Leek Road, Stoke-on-Trent, at around 6.16pm on Monday, November 11.
Paramedics said he suffered serious injuries in the crash. Medics gave trauma care at the scene to help stabilise the boy's condition.
He was later rushed to Birmingham Children's Hospital and received further treatment en-route. An ambulance, a paramedic officer, a critical care paramedic and two North Staffordshire BASICS doctors had responded to the scene.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: “When ambulance staff arrived on scene they found a cyclist, a boy, being cared for by bystanders. Upon assessment the boy was found with serious injuries and the team quickly administered trauma care to him to stabilise his condition.
"The boy was conveyed by land ambulance on blue lights and sirens to Birmingham Children's Hospital whilst continuing to receive treatment by medics en-route.”
