Paramedics and trauma doctor fought to save Marston Green boy in fatal knife incident

West Midlands Ambulance Service has released a statement after a fatal stabbing in Marston Green last night, Tuesday October 29. The ambulance service spoke of the significant scale of their response to the fatal knifing on Station Road in the Solihull village.

Police and West Midlands Ambulance crews flooded the row of shops on Station Road at 6:20pm where they found a 17-year-old boy had sustained serious injuries. The force confirmed on Wednesday morning that despite the best efforts of medics, he sadly died and a murder investigation has now been launched.

A 17-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of murder and is currently being held by police. West Midlands Ambulance confirmed to BirminghamLive that two ambulances, a paramedic officer and trauma crews attended the scene on Tuesday night.

A West Midlands Ambulance spokesperson said: “We were called at 6.24pm on Tuesday to reports of a stabbing in Marston Green, Solihull. Two ambulances, a paramedic officer, a MERIT trauma doctor and critical care paramedic and a critical care car from The Air Ambulance Service attended the scene.

"Upon arrival we found a teenage boy who had sustained life threatening injuries. He received advanced trauma care and advanced life support at the scene but unfortunately, despite the best efforts of ambulance staff, nothing more could be done to save him and he was confirmed deceased at the scene.”

West Midlands Police are carrying out CCTV enquiries in Marston Green this morning, and a log number has been provided for anyone with information to get in touch. Officers said their thoughts "remain firmly with the victim's family and loved ones at this truly tragic time."
