Marston Green murder investigation launched after boy, 17, dies outside row of shops

The teenage boy was found with knife injuries on Station Road in Marston Green just after 6pm, the force confirmed.
A 17-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in police custody. A murder probe has been launched, and Station Road remains closed this morning as investigators work at the scene.
Buses are also being diverted away from the area. A West Midlands Police spokesperson said: "We've launched a murder investigation and arrested a teenager following a stabbing in Solihull yesterday evening. We were called to Station Road in Marston Green, Solihull at around 6.20pm on Tuesday.

"A 17-year-old boy was treated for his injuries by the ambulance service, but despite their best efforts he sadly died and a murder investigation has now been launched.
"We have arrested a 17-year-old boy on suspicion of murder and he remains in police custody as our investigation continues. Our thoughts remain firmly with the victim's family and loved ones at this truly tragic time."
Supt Wayne Carter, of Solihull Police, said: "We know people will understandably be concerned and we will be in the area conducting enquiries throughout the day. We will have extra officers in the area over the coming days and I would encourage anyone with any information, or concerns, to get in touch.
"We are reviewing CCTV footage and making enquires and we are also appealing to any witnesses who haven't spoken to us yet, to come forward. People can leave information by calling us on 101 and quoting log 4239 29/10/24."
