Iceland has joined a growing list of product recalls as more and more items are withdrawn from sale. The frozen food specialist has moved to urgently take items off the shelves and offer full refunds for shoppers and customers who are impacted.

Iceland is impacted as a result of FGS Ingredients Ltd recalling a number of products containing mustard powder because they may contain peanuts. "This means these products are a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy to peanuts," the Food Standards Agency (FSA) has said.

Iceland is rivalled by the likes of M&S, Waitrose, Aldi, Lidl and Morrisons, as well as Asda and Sainsbury's and Tesco. The recall has already impacted the likes of products and items sold in SPAR stores and supermarkets nationwide, the FSA says.

The Food Standards Agency (FSA) said: "These products may contain peanut making them a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy to peanuts. FGS Ingredients Ltd is recalling the above products and have been advised to contact the relevant allergy support organisations, which will tell their members about the recall.

"These products are sold under several different brand names at several different retail stores. Point of sale notices will be displayed where the products were sold. These notices explain to customers why the products are being recalled and tell them what to do if they have bought the products.

"If you have bought any of the above products and have an allergy to peanuts, do not eat them. Instead, please follow the advice as mentioned in the attached notices."
