Man rushed to hospital after car crashes into parked cars on residential street

Paramedics, firefighters and police officers descended on the scene after the smash on Walsall Road

A man was taken to hospital after car crashed into two parked cars on a residential West Bromwich street. The crash took place on Walsall Road at 4.47am yesterday (October 16).

Paramedics, firefighters and police officers attended the scene, with the road blocked to traffic. The driver of the vehicle, a man, was treated for injuries not believed to be serious before being rushed to City Hospital.

A spokesperson from West Midlands Ambulance Service said: "We were called to reports of an RTC on Walsall Road in West Bromwich at 4.47am. An ambulance was sent to the scene, arriving in 8 minutes, and was closely followed by a MERIT trauma doctor and critical care paramedic.

"On arrival, crews found a car had collided into a parked vehicle. The driver, a man, was treated for injuries not believed to be serious and taken to City Hospital."

A spokesperson for West Midlands Fire Service added: "Shortly after 4.50am on Wednesday (16 October), we responded to Walsall Road, West Bromwich. A fire engine from West Bromwich fire station responded, arriving within three minutes of being mobilised.

"This was a collision between a moving car and two parked cars. One man received a precautionary check-up from paramedics. Police colleagues were also in attendance.

"Crews made the vehicle safe and left the scene at 5.10am."
