A woman was rushed to hospital following a late night 'assault' at a railway station in Walsall. Emergency services found the woman in a 'serious condition' when they arrived at Bescot Stadium on Sunday, October 20.

Medics gave the casualty trauma care at the scene before taking her to hospital for further 'emergency care'. Following the incident, trains have been unable to stop at the station, with passengers urged to 'plan ahead'.

Shortly before 5am, West Midlands Railway posted on X: "Due to the police dealing with an incident, services will not call at Bescot Stadium until further notice. Road transport between Tame Bridge, Bescot and Walsall has been ordered."

The full statement from West Midlands Ambulance Service read: "We were called at 11.28pm last night (Sunday, October 20) to reports of an assault at Bescot Stadium Railway Station, Walsall. An ambulance, paramedic officer, MERIT trauma team and HART paramedics attended.

"The team arrived to find a woman in a serious condition. She received trauma care on scene before being conveyed on blue lights to hospital for emergency care."
