The Reds director is the only person to have been nominated for acting, directing, writing, and producing in the same film, and he did so twice - first for Heaven Can Wait and again for Reds. Prior to marrying Annette, Warren was notorious for his large number of romantic relationships that received generous media coverage, having reportedly been linked to over 100 female celebrities at the height of his career as a movie star.
Warren was known for his romantic life almost as much as his movie roles back then. He was linked to everyone from Natalie Wood and Joan Collins to Cher and Madonna.
One of his biographers, Peter Biskind, estimated in 2010 that Warren had slept with 12,775 women in his life. But Warren later laughed off the number in an interview with AARP the Magazine. He said the number was wildly exagerated, saying: "Think about it, sleeping with 12,775 people. That would mean not just that there were multiple people a day, but that there was no repetition."
He added about his single says: "Look, I never misled anyone. And … and I'm a nice guy. I waited a long time to be married. When you don't get married until you're 54 … well, as Arthur Miller said, 'It comes with the territory.'"
Anette and Warren have four children, including another famous family member - daughter actress Ella Beatty who made her TV debut in 2024 with a recurring role on Feud: Capote vs. The Swans.
