by · Birmingham Live

Floral tributes and balloons have been left at the roadside where a man was killed in a crash over the weekend. A BMW driver, named locally as Hamayad Mukhtar, left the road and ended up in a ditch in Redditch.

Emergency services rushed to Old Ford Drive, after 10am, on Sunday, November 3. Police and fire crews extricated the man, aged in his 30s, from the car and performed CPR. Attending paramedics carried out advanced life support, but sadly despite the best efforts he died at the scene.

A note named the victim as Hamayad at the scene of the tragedy. A heartfelt message within flowers read: "He will be sorely missed in Redditch and beyond." One of the balloons left at the scene also said: "Best dad."

Two ambulances, a paramedic officer and the Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance had attended the scene. A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “Crews arrived quickly on scene to find police and fire colleagues performing CPR on the driver, a man, who had been extricated from the car.

“The team of ambulance staff commenced advanced life support on scene but sadly, despite the best efforts of everyone, nothing could be done to save the man and he was confirmed dead a short time later on scene.”
