Birmingham child seriously injured in school-run collision

A child sustained serious injuries in a collision on a Birmingham Road. West Midlands Police and paramedics from West Midlands Ambulance Service were called to Cliff Rock Road in Rednal, at 4.15pm on Thursday (Oct 3).

There they found the male victim and a car. The child was treated at the scene before he was transferred to Birmingham Children's Hospital. Police closed off the road which was later reopened.

West Midlands Police has been contacted for comment.

A spokeswoman from West Midlands Ambulance Service told BirminghamLive: "We were called to reports of an RTC on Cliff Rock Road in Rednal at 4.15pm. An ambulance, paramedic officer, MERIT trauma doctor and critical care paramedic were sent to the scene. On arrival, crews found a car and a pedestrian had been involved in a collision.

"The pedestrian, a male child, was treated for serious injuries and conveyed to Birmingham Children’s Hospital for further treatment."
