Amazon slashes price of Samsung gadget that can track keys and luggage as fans say 'easy to use'
by Dayna Farrington, https://www.facebook.com/daynafarringtonbcl/, Harriet Morphy-Morris · Birmingham LiveBluetooth trackers, the tiny tech gadgets that allow you to keep a close eye on your belongings, have soared in popularity in recent years. Brands like Apple AirTags, Tile and Samsung Galaxy Tags are becoming increasingly popular due to their notification-pinging software.
Whether it's attached to your car keys, handbag, luggage or laptop case, they've become an essential accessory for many. This includes parents who use the Galaxy Smart Tag2 to monitor their children who don't have phones.
And Amazon has launched a 53 per cent off offer on the Galaxy Smart Tag2 - making it the perfect time to snap them up. Usually priced at £39.99 for one 'lost-mode' tracker, Amazon has added the Samsung tag to its deal page, reducing the price to a much more affordable £18.80.

With over 5,000 sold on Amazon this month, its price drop could mean they're snapped up even quicker. Our tech team has tested rival Apple AirTags and the cheaper Tile Tags before to track lost luggage and found this Samsung alternative to be just as efficient. With over 3,000 ratings, 69 per cent of Amazon shoppers have given the Galaxy Smart Tag 2 a full five-star rating, as reported by the Mirror.
One shopper said: "This tag is great, I use it to track my kid to school as he doesn't take his phone." Another buyer, who mentioned that it was easy to track through the app, wrote: "They're small, easily attached to items by the hoop incorporated in the design."
Customers have been praising the effectiveness of a new tracking device, with one saying: "Most of all they do what they're designed to do. It's easy to see where the tags are on the Smart things app."
Another user shared their positive experience: "I was concerned that there would be areas where there would be no response because of lack of Samsung devices. This doesn't appear to be the case. I currently have a tag on my car keys. My daughter is using the car and I can see she is currently just outside Limerick. Despite being in the middle of nowhere the position shown in the app is correct within 15 meters."
Echoing the sentiment, another shopper recounted how they used the tracker during travel, stating: "Finally bought these just before our holiday. We just flew back from Málaga late Saturday night last weekend after a 3 hour delay. When we got to the baggage belt a text came through to say that the entire flights luggage was still in Málaga. We were told that the luggage would be flown to Dublin the next day and delivered to our homes."
The same customer also noted the accuracy of the tracking as they could check "the whereabouts of our cases (still in Málaga) and track again when they had landed in Dublin." However, they did offer a word of caution for potential buyers: "Just make sure they are suitable for your phone."
Another shopper pointed out an issue, saying: "I have returned this item as it isn't compatible with any other phone. And Amazon says not returned....not clear that they aren't compatible with other phones."
You can buy the Galaxy Smart Tag2 for £18.80 on Amazon now. Elsewhere, Very has the Apple AirTags from £35. Amazon also sells the Tile by Life360 Mate Bluetooth Tracker for £24.99.
