Met Office has said where snow could fall in the UK in November as the penultimate month of the year prepares to start. As we head deeper into the year and towards Christmas, the Met Office has explained where they think snow could fall first in the UK.

In a long-range forecast covering October 30 to November 8, the Met Office said: “Into the start of November, there is a chance the weather could (briefly) turn much colder/brighter, with a chance of snow showers in northern and eastern areas, but it’s equally possible these could stay clear of the UK, or the milder conditions could remain in place.

“Either way going forward it’s likely to stay mainly settled, with an increasing chance of more unsettled weather developing later in this period.” The Met Office has released two separate forecasts for the UK, spanning November 2 to November 11, and then November 12 to November 26.

"High pressure is likely to dominate the weather across many parts of the UK during this period. This will mean plenty of dry and settled weather through to the middle of November. Where skies clear overnight some areas of fog and frost are likely to develop. Southern areas are expected to be mainly dry during this period," it said.

"Any more unsettled conditions and periods of rain are more likely to affect areas further north, particularly the far north and northwest of Scotland. Winds will likely be light in the south, but there could be some spells of strong winds across the north.

"Temperatures will probably be close to normal overall, although some cold night are possible at times." The outlook goes on and dded: "After a relatively settled start to November, around mid-month there will probably be a change toward more unsettled conditions for a time."
