Snow is on the cards for the UK in the coming days, with a weather map pinpointing when and where the chill will hit. Northerners are set to see snowfall, while the rest of the country braces for a cold snap.

The Met Office warns of "unsettled" conditions ahead, prompting some to prepare for the worst as unpredictable weather looms. WXCharts indicates that this evening (Saturday, October 12), areas including and below Inverness will experience the snowy shift, expected to persist into tomorrow (October 13).

Today's Met Office forecast describes a "cold overall" feeling, and Sunday doesn't look much warmer. The prediction for tomorrow includes "Windy along eastern coasts as rain clears during Saturday evening. Then dry with clear spells overnight as winds ease. Chilly for all with widespread frost in the north."

Looking further ahead, from Wednesday, October 16 to Friday, October 25, forecasts suggest a mix of rain, frost, and fog. While WXCharts' purple patches and the Met Office's outlook are separate, both indicate a drop in temperatures is imminent.

The Met Office has warned that the UK will face "Through the second half of next week conditions will be very unsettled with rain affecting most regions at times," conditions with rain affecting most regions at times during the second half of next week. They added: " Following the rain, a drier and brighter interlude is probable, before conditions turn unsettled once again by next weekend. Later in October, there is a chance of more settled conditions developing, but with temperatures falling closer to average and some overnight frost and fog.", reports the Mirror.

As we move into late October, there's a chance of more settled conditions developing, but with temperatures falling closer to average and some overnight frost and fog.

The Met Office also predicts these unsettled conditions will continue well into November, particularly in southern regions of the UK. Their long-term forecast reads: "Potentially some wet and windy weather at first, especially in the northwest, but a trend towards more settled conditions is most favoured for late October as high pressure becomes increasingly dominant."

They further added: "This would bring the potential for frost and fog at night, and possibly large variations between daytime and overnight temperatures. Into early November, high pressure may become more centred to the northwest of the UK, resulting in a gradual trend towards more unsettled conditions, particularly across southern regions."
