Teenager seriously injured after Brierley Hill stabbing in town's high street

The stabbing took place on Thursday with the teenage boy rushed to hospital, as police cordoned off the road

A teenager was seriously injured after a stabbing in the Black Country. It happened on High Street in Brierley Hill at around 6.25pm yesterday, Thursday, October 10.

The boy was treated at the scene by paramedics before being rushed to hospital. West Midlands Police was pictured at the scene yesterday evening, with the road sealed off at the time.

West Midlands Ambulance Service sent an ambulance, two paramedics officers, a trauma doctor and a critical care paramedic to the scene. A spokesperson for the ambulance service said: "We were called to reports of a stabbing on High Street in Brierley Hill at around 6.25pm.

"An ambulance, two paramedic officers, a trauma doctor and critical care paramedic were sent to the scene where, on arrival, crews found a teenage male patient. He was treated for serious injuries before being conveyed to hospital with MERIT travelling on board to continue treatment en-route."

West Midlands Police has been approached for comment.
