BBC Strictly Come Dancing fans stunned as Wynne Evans and Katya Jones 'disappear' from show

Wynne Evans and Katya Jones were noticeably absent from screens during Strictly's Halloween special. The latest instalment of the BBC series saw the professional dancers and their celebrity partners donning spectacular and spooky costumes for the eerie event.

Hosts Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman introduced the couples and judges at the beginning of the programme. Wynne, 52, was briefly spotted in a devil costume, with pro Katya in a matching outfit.

However, the duo then vanished for over half an hour, failing to join Claudia Winkleman and their fellow contestants on the elevated platform. Observant viewers picked up on this at home, with one posting on social media: "Where's Katya and Wyn? "

Another queried: "Is Wynne not allowed to be with Claudia and the other contestants at the top of the stairs? Have not seen him there all show." A third asked: "Are they deliberately keeping Wynne & Katya away from the cameras,"

Wynne and Katya did eventually make an appearance for their Salsa, scoring a total of 31 points, before disappearing once more. Despite fans not spotting him, the BBC assured The Sun that Wynne was present in the 'Clauditorium'.

At approximately 7:40pm, they both reappeared in the background of a shot as Shayne Ward and Nancy Xu chatted with Claudia. Earlier this month, Wynne was left 'devastated' after Katya was seen moving his hand away from her waist during a live show.

Later, speaking on BBC Radio, Wynne expressed: "I'm absolutely heartbroken by the things that have been written about me in the last day. It's not nice to live in that time, but basically Katya and I are really, really close and we're really good friends, and on Saturday night we made a stupid joke.

"It was a stupid joke that went wrong, OK? We thought it was funny. It wasn't funny. It was been totally misinterpreted."
