Movie review: Ambitious 'Joker 2' ultimately anticlimactic

by · UPI

LOS ANGELES, Oct. 2 (UPI) -- Joker: Folie à Deux, in theaters Friday, is in many respects the logical follow-up to the blockbuster Oscar-winner. Ultimately, following that premise to its inevitable conclusion proves to be a letdown.

Arthur Fleck (Joaquin Phoenix) is in prison awaiting trial for murdering a talk show host and four other bullies in the first film. He discovers a ray of hope when he meets Lee Quinzel (Lady Gaga), short for Harley, in a music therapy group.
