SALT LAKE CITY — Traffic is significantly backed up on I-80 in Parleys Canyon, after two crashes within half a mile of each other closed all but one lane heading east Wednesday morning, according to the Utah Department of Transportation.
The first crash happened around 6:30 a.m. just east of Mt. Aire Canyon, Utah Highway Patrol Cpl. Jared Heywood said, with two people being transported to the hospital with minor injuries.
A single-vehicle rollover happened behind the first crash, and one person was transported to the hospital with minor injuries, Heywood said. Another fender bender happened as traffic backed up, but no one was hurt.
Commuters could be experiencing an hourlong delay entering the canyon, with I-215 backing up as the traffic jam extends down I-80.
