Person stops car at traffic lights, lays on road in failed bid for donation – be sure to have dashcam installed

There are all sorts that could possibly be encountered on city roads, as recent dashcam footage from a motorist’s vehicle in Bukit Bintang, Kuala Lumpur has illustrated.

Through captions added to the dashcam footage, the driver of the dashcam vehicle described a shirtless man who stood in front of their vehicle when traffic was stopped for a red light at an intersection, and appeared to be begging for money for food.

The driver of the dashcam vehicle said they had indicated they did not have cash on hand, and the shirtless man remained standing in front of the vehicle. When the driver of the dashcam vehicle sounded their horn as the traffic lights turned green, the beggar appeared to fall to the ground in a bid to pretend he was hit by the dashcam vehicle.

Remaining within their vehicle, the driver did not move the dashcam vehicle as they did not know what else to do, as the beggar attempted to feign being hit. Passers-by did not take the bait, and the shirtless person eventually walked away before the footage ended.

As demonstrated before, the dashcam is a useful set of equipment to contend with individuals who would go to considerable lengths to attempt to scam unwitting motorists, and some are willing to put themselves in harm’s way to do so.
