Here’s what happened in California’s election while you were sleeping

Keep in mind that ballots are still coming in and will be counted until Nov. 12, so the final results may not be known for weeks.
With that said, here are the latest results in the races that we’re watching:
President
In California, Vice President Kamala Harris, a Democrat, leads former President Donald Trump, a Republican, 57.8%-39.7%. However, nationwide, Trump has collected enough electoral votes to win the presidency. The Associated Press has called the race for Trump.
U.S. Senate
Rep. Adam Schiff, a Democrat, leads Steve Garvey, a Republican, 57.7%-42.3%. The Associated Press has called the race for Schiff.
Nationwide, the Republican Party has won enough seats to take control of the U.S. Senate.
U.S. House
In California’s 1st Congressional District, Rep. Doug LaMalfa, a Republican, leads Rose Penelope Yee, a Democrat, 62.6%-37.4%. The Associated Press has called the race for LaMalfa.
In the 3rd Congressional District, Rep. Kevin Kiley, a Republican, leads Jessica Morse, a Democrat, 57.5%-42.5%. The race remains too close to call.
In the 4th Congressional District, Rep. Mike Thompson, a Democrat, leads John Munn, a Republican, 66.1%-33.9%. The Associated Press has called the race for Thompson.
In the 5th Congressional District, Rep. Tom McClintock, a Republican, leads Mike Barkley, a Democrat, 62.2%-37.8%. The Associated Press has called the race for McClintock.
In the 6th Congressional District, Rep. Ami Bera, a Democrat, leads Christine Bish, a Republican, 56.8%-43.2%. The Associated Press has called the race for Bera.
In the 7th Congressional District, Rep. Doris Matsui, a Democrat, leads Tom Silva, a Republican, 64.5%-35.5%. The Associated Press has called the race for Matsui.
In the 8th Congressional District, Rep. John Garamendi, a Democrat, leads Rudy Recile, a Republican, 73.2%-26.8%. The Associated Press has called the race for Garamendi.
In the 9th Congressional District, Rep. Josh Harder, a Democrat, leads Kevin Lincoln, a Republican, 50.7%-49.3%. The race remains too close to call.
Nationwide, it remains to be seen which party will win control of the U.S. House of Representatives.
Ballot Measures
Proposition 2, to authorize a $10 billion bond for school infrastructure, is currently passing, 56.8%-43.2%.
Proposition 3, to remove the constitutional ban on same-sex marriage, is currently passing, 61.3%-38.7%. The Associated Press has called the race for the “yes” side.
Proposition 4, to authorize a $10 billion bond for water and wildfire prevention projects, is currently passing, 57.9%-42.1%.
Proposition 5, to lower the threshold for local bonds to fund affordable housing projects, is currently failing, 43.6%-56.4%.
Proposition 6, to ban forced labor for incarcerated people, is currently failing, 45.2%-54.8%.
Proposition 32, to raise the minimum wage to $18 an hour, is currently failing, 48%-52%.
Proposition 33, to authorize local governments to enact rent control measures, is currently failing, 38.3%-61.7%. The Associated Press has called the race for the “no” side.
Proposition 34, to require health care providers to spend 98% of prescription drug discount revenue on patient care, is currently passing, 51.4%-48.6%.
Proposition 35, to impose a tax on managed care organizations to fund Medi-Cal programs, is currently passing, 66.8%-33.2%. The Associated Press has called the race for the “yes” side.
Proposition 36, to reinstate felony penalties for certain drug- and theft-related offenses is currently passing, 70.4%-29.6%. The Associated Press has called the race for the “yes” side.
State Senate
In Senate District 1, Assemblywoman Megan Dahle, a Republican, leads David Fennell, a Republican, 74.9%-25.1%. The Associated Press has called the race for Dahle.
In Senate District 3, Christopher Cabaldon, a Democrat, leads Thom Bogue, a Republican, 61%-39%.
In Senate District 5, Jerry McNerney, a Democrat, leads Jim Shoemaker, a Republican, 50.2%-49.8%.
State Assembly
In Assembly District 1, Heather Hadwick, a Republican, leads Tenessa Audette, a Republican, 62.8%-37.2%.
In Assembly District 3, Assemblyman James Gallagher, a Republican, leads Aaron Draper, a Democrat, 64.9%-35.1%. The Associated Press has called the race for Gallagher.
In Assembly District 4, Assemblywoman Cecilia Aguiar-Curry, a Democrat, leads Darren T. Ellis, a Republican, 66.1%-33.9%.
In Assembly District 5, Assemblyman Joe Patterson, a Republican, leads Neva Parker, a Democrat, 61.8%-38.2%. The Associated Press has called the race for Patterson.
In Assembly District 6, Maggy Krell, a Democrat, leads Nikki Ellis, a Republican, 64.9%-35.1%.
In Assembly District 7, Assemblyman Josh Hoover, a Republican, leads Porsche Middleton, a Democrat, 53.7%-46.3%.
In Assembly District 9, Assemblyman Heath Flora, a Republican, leads Tami Nobriga, of the American Independent Party of California, 70.4%-29.6%. The Associated Press has called the race for Flora.
In Assembly District 10, Assemblywoman Stephanie Nguyen, a Democrat, leads Vinaya Singh, a Republican, 65.4%-34.6%.
In Assembly District 11, Assemblywoman Lori Wilson, a Democrat, leads Dave Ennis, a Republican, 57.8%-42.2%.
Sacramento City Mayor
In the race for Sacramento city mayor, Assemblyman Kevin McCarty leads Flojaune Cofer, 55.1%-44.8%.
